Breathable underlays are the preferred solution for sloped roofs waterproofing. Bituminous roofing felts are still present but used far less than few decades ago.
They are usually three layer products. One microporous layer in the center and polypropylene knitted fabrics on the two faces to guarantee the protection of the central layer.
Breathable roof underlays come in many weights. We keep in stock:
- 115 gr/m2
- 135 gr/m2
- 155 gr/m2
- 175 gr/m2
- 215 gr/m2
Although these underlays are vapor permeable, other meaures for the correct ventilation of the roof should be taken too.
It is most critical to avoid thermal ageing of the underlay by assuring ample ventilation through it's upper side.
Also critical is the resistance of the underlay to high tmperatures.
