SBS modified asphalt membranes are more elastic than their APP counterparts and don't become as brittle in lower temoperatures.
They are also more expensive
On the other hand APP modified asphalt membranes are more resistant to UV and higher temperatures.
Generally there are no strict rules to define where each type should be used.
Though, the collective experience and the common logic suggest that APP should be used in hotter countries with more sun radiation.
And SBS should be used in colder climates.

An option of a quality APP with a cold temperature flexibility of -10 degrees might be the best for Greece.
But why we use so much SBS in Greece?
The answer is that we simply lack knowledge and we act like nouveau riche.
