HDPE dimpled / studded membranes are not waterproofing products.
Their main mission is to protect the flexible waterproofing layers from mechanical damaging during the embankment filling.
Additionally they create a healthy layer of air around the basement walls keeping them away from mud.
And of course they create a drainage space behind them for the eventual water that passes through their seams.
