Corner beads are used in render and plaster systems mainly for the following reasons:

Chemical anchors in constructions - Greece

 

Chemical anchoring in constructions is made usually with epoxy or vinylester or polyester resins in cartridges.

Epoxy anchoring is used for the most critical cases e.g. :

- drilling a hole of suitable diameter

Polyethylene foam boards are compressible boards from cross linked, non absorbent, sem- rigid PE and used to form and fill expansion joints in concrete constructions.

Projects that need this kind of boards:

They present excellent recovery rates and are the most suitable boards for water retaining and water excluding projects.

Socle or starter or base profiles are U-shaped. perforated profiles made mainly from extruded aluminium plates with thickness 0,5 or 0,6mm.

They serve as a starting profile for the insulation boards.

 They ensure a closed system edge and a targeted water drainage together with a horizontal set-up of the thermal insulation products.

PVC Drip nose corner beads with mesh for ETICS / EIFS - Greece

Drip nose corner beads are used in external thermal insulations at the window heads and balconies as a means of drainage for the protection of plasters from the corrosive action of water.

They also provide strength and clear lines / ideal straight edges.

What counts is a sturdy PVC profile and a strong, alkali resistant fiberglass mesh fabric with powerful adherence to the profile. The mesh helps the profile to incorporate into the system.

There  are profiles with visible or hidden drip edges. The former are supposed to giver bigger drainage capacity.

Normally they are sold in bundles of 20 x 2,5m.

Graphite and white EPS for external thermal insulation - Greece

We sell big quantities of graphite and white EPS for external thermal insulation in Greece and Cyprus.

Graphite  EPS / polystyrene foam is the preferred material for external thermal insulation in Greece.

It is produced as the white EPS but some quantity of graphite powder is added in the mixer.

The result is a dark grey product with a 15-17% better λ.

This has to do with the extra repulsion of heat due to thermal radiation induced by graphite particles.

A normal λ of graphite  EPS should be round 0,030 W/ m K whereas for white EPS it should be round

 0,036 W/ m K.

Main thicknesses kept in stock: 2-3-5-6-7-8-10 cm. 

Both graphite and white  EPS / polystyrene foams are preferable to XPS - extruded polystyrene - because they are doing the same job with much less money.

Breathable roof underlays / underlayments - Greece

 

We distribute breathable roof underlays / underlayments in many grammages in Greece and Cyprus.

Breathable underlays are the preferred solution for sloped roofs waterproofing. Bituminous roofing felts are still present but used far less than few decades ago.

They are usually three layer products. One microporous layer in the center and polypropylene knitted fabrics on the two faces to guarantee the protection of the central layer.

Breathable roof underlays come in many weights. We keep in stock:

- 115 gr/m2

- 135 gr/m2

- 155 gr/m2

- 175 gr/m2

- 215 gr/m2

Although these underlays are vapor permeable, other meaures for the correct ventilation of the roof should be taken too.

It is most critical to avoid thermal ageing of the underlay by assuring ample ventilation through it's upper side.

Also critical is the resistance of the underlay to high tmperatures.

SBS and APP modified asphalt / bituminous membranes - Greece

 

We sell SBS and APP modified asphalt membranes in Cyprus, Greece and the Balkan region.

SBS and APP modified asphalt membranes are maybe the best value solution for flat roof waterproofing.

More reliable than liquid waterproofing, less expensive and complicated than single ply membrane waterproofing.


SBS membranes are more flexible than APP and thus more suitable for bigger roofs and places with low temperatures.

APP membranes of good quality are maybe preferable for the warm climates of Greece and Cyprus.


Things to take into consideration with bituminous / asphalt membranes:

- weight / m2

-  cold flexibility

- reinforcement / mechanical characteristics

- exposed surface.

Heavier and more elastic bituminous membranes are more dependable. 

Also a spunbond polyester reinforcement is better than a short fiber one.

Aluminium faced asphalt membranes are better suited for upstands and detailing.

Dowels are used in ETICS to fix the thermal insulation panels on the substrate.

They have to be strong and robust so as not to break during application.

They must also anchor well in the various substrates.

Because there are many different cases, dowels are made from various plastics and they have different pins.

There are many lengths in stock: 7-9-11-12-14-16-18-20-22-26cm are among the most common.

The right length of plastic dowels to be chosen has to do with the thickness of the insulation panel, the substrate, the existence of old plasters, etc.

Προδιαμορφωμένα υλικά δημιουργίας και πλήρωσης αρμών Bitucell,Hydrocell XL

Τι είναι τα προδιαμορφωμένα υλικά δημιουργίας και πλήρωσης αρμών;

Είναι εύκαμπτες πλάκες, πάχους συνήθως 12-20mm, που μπαίνουν στις κατασκευές από σκυρόδεμα ανά τακτά διαστήματα, υπολογισμένα από την τεχνική μελέτη του έργου, έτσι ώστε να δημιουργήσουν αρμούς διαστολής.

Η απαίτηση είναι αυτά τα υλικά:

- να κόβονται και να εφαρμόζονται εύκολα

- να μην κατά το δυνατόν απορροφούν νερό

- να είναι αρκετά εύκαμπτα

- να προσφύονται εύκολα στο μπετόν, άρα να διαθέτουν αδρές επιφάνειες

- να μπορούν να συμπιέζονται χωρίς εξωθήσεις στα άκρα

- και το κυριότερα να επανέρχονται κατά τη διαστολή του αρμού έτσι ώστε να μη ρυπαίνεται η κοιλότητα του από ανεπιθύμητα σώματα που θα παρεμπόδιζαν την ομαλή  λειτουργία του.

Διαθέτουμε δύο γνωστά υλικά της Fosroc με τις παραπάνω ιδιότητες:

- το Bitucell - πρώην Flexcell- που κατασκευάζεται από ίνες ξύλου εμποτισμένες με ασφαλτική συνδετική ύλη. 

Συνήθεις διαστάσεις 1,2 x 122 x 222 cm.

- και το Hydrocell XL, που κατασκευάζεται από διογκωμένο πολυαιθυλένιο διασταυρούμενης δομής και προτιμάται όταν υπάρχει μόνιμη ή συχνή επαφή με νερό.
